The driving mode of Google Assistant seems to be finally landing on the Android platform
At last year's I/O conference, Google announced the driving mode of its own assistant service , and later promised to officially launch this feature in mid-2019. It's just that this promise has not been fulfilled for a long time. Until today, more than a year later, someone on XDA-Developers suddenly discovered that the driving mode of Google Assistant has been opened to some Android users. Compared with the I/O demonstration (see the figure above), the current version has obvious changes in the UI (see the figure below). But the basic concept is to enlarge the buttons and text to minimize the interference caused by mobile phone operation.
According to XDA-Developers' speculation, the driving mode that went online this time is likely to be part of Google's server-side test. Whether you can use this function or not has nothing to do with the version of Google Maps and search applications, and it doesn’t matter which device you use. It seems that it just depends on whether your account is lucky. Our colleague at the main site has contacted Google on this matter, but the other party has not yet given a response.
