Retailers say demand for NVIDIA rtx3070 cards is still in short supply
A Danish retailer has revealed how many NVIDIA RTX 3070 graphics cards it received before it launches next week - a slim choice.
Proshop ordered 4280 RTX 3070 units from a number of suppliers including ASUS, MICROSTAR and Gigabyte. But as of Monday, it had only received 106 units, about 2.5% of the requested inventory. There are also 185 units. However, unless manufacturing goes into the super drive, retailers' RTX 3070s inventory will be negligible when these graphics cards go on sale on October 29.
For customers eager to buy graphics cards, Proshop's numbers are not good. Initially, the $499 RTX 3070 was due to go on sale on Thursday, but NVIDIA decided to postpone the launch to offer more products on the day of the launch.
According to Proshop, delays may not have much effect on improving inventory. There may be other retailers, such as Amazon, best buy and Newegg, who have better luck on RTX 3070. However, other RTX cards (3080 and 3090) are out of stock in all major retailers. If you want to get them immediately, you have to consider eBay, where third-party dealers sell them $1000 above the asking price.
Unfortunately, the shortage is expected to continue into the holidays. "I believe demand throughout the year will exceed all our supplies," NVIDIA chief executive Jensen Huang said in a telephone call to reporters last month
