Moto's new Z4 pushes Verizon 5g below $500

Motorola seems to work with flagship stores. But it's not done with cutting-edge features.

While its new Z4 is definitely a midrange phone, it can be used with Motorola's backpack add-on for Verizon's new 5g system, and if a new line is activated, Motorola and Verizon plan to sell both for $439.99. The phone will cost $499.99 with a 360 camera accessory.

"In the U.S., it's a duopoly in the flagship market between apple and Samsung," said Doug michau, Motorola's North American product operations director

As a result, Motorola is doing some effective work for the company and phone buyers, but the budget is not high. According to the company, its moto g line of phones has always been the number one brand for unlocking devices in the United States, which has helped the company grow here, even though overall smartphone sales are falling. Z4 looks and feels like a flagship product, but the price is only half of the latter.

Motorola's z-series phones have always felt high-quality, with a rugged aluminum frame and a striking flat back to hold its modules, such as projectors, external batteries or 5g modems. Motorola now has 16 mods, michau said. Although the company has been looking for third-party module development in the past few years, none of the compelling third-party modules, including the physical keyboard shown at CES 2018, have been successfully launched.
