Sony misses PS5 trademark registration in India

When many game fans around the world look forward to the launch of the PS5, Sony may be blocked in two of the most populous markets. When the launch date of the PS5 was announced earlier, the Chinese market was in a pending state. Now, the Indian market, which has the world's second most populous market, can launch a new game console under the name of PS5. The website The Mako Reactor recently reported that according to information published by the Indian authorities, Hitesh Awani, a resident of New Delhi, India, applied for registration of the PS5 trademark in October last year. This will cause Sony to be unable to use PS5 as a trademark, and even affect their plans to list the PS5 console in India. According to the report, Sony believes that it has taken corresponding measures to object to Awani's trademark registration. According to the information, the trademark application is currently marked as "Opposition". It is estimated that Sony is trying to obtain the PS5 trademark through official channels. It is not yet known how the Indian authorities will make a ruling, nor whether the launch date of the PS5 in India will be affected by this.
